Hanoi, 12.6.2020

It was an incredible day for the Vietnamese Social Enterprise Community. The Social Impact Business Awards 2020 event brought everyone together for a warm and joyful gathering. It was truly heartwarming to see so many social entrepreneurs come together to celebrate each other’s successes.

One of the highlights of the event was the debut of the Compassion Books. It was their first time being recognized officially as a member of the Vietnam Social Enterprise Digital Map. They received the Social Impact Business Award in Education, and the representative, Mr. Tran Thanh Hoai, shared his gratitude with the crowd :

“First of all, allow me to express my gratitude to the organizers and congratulations to the social entrepreneurs who attended today’s event. We faced a difficult choice – compared to other entrepreneurs and businesses who have to balance between business and community, between economy and society (even prioritizing community goals more, like Compassion Books currently at 100%). And in fact, we have tried many times to achieve the results we have today.

With the joy today (when recognized as the highest voted business, as the Social Impact Business of the year 2020 in the Education sector), we do not think this is a big prize or honor, but see it as a gift. A gift of love, affection, support, solidarity, mutual care of the community as well as each of us for each other.

Although we have been on a journey for more than 3 years, as well as other businesses here may have been longer or shorter, I think that all of us are just getting started. Therefore, I have a message to my brothers and sisters as well as the entrepreneurs here: although we know that there is nothing in the world that lasts forever, believe that as long as we still keep the passion of the first days, the values we create will still shine.

Before ending, I would like to give you a quote that I always keep in mind from the great poet Targo: “Let me burn out my light, but never ask if it can dispel darkness!”

Once again, thank you to the organizers! Thank you all for loving the Humanitarian Bookcase!”

Although it was short, we are glad that the Compassion Books also had a few words to send to everyone! Today’s gift is sent to everyone, because it belongs to everyone, to all of us – those who are attached, accompany, support, and wish the best for the Compassion Books.
