Theme “Developing Reading Habits to Become Lifelong Learners”
The Ministry of Education has recognized its pivotal role in the development of programs, projects, and cultural reading groups over the past few years. To support these activities and create the most favorable legal corridor for them, the Ministry invited Compassion Books, the House of Wisdom in Vinh city, and Rural Development Books to attend the cultural reading conference and launch the Lifelong Learning Week 2019.
At the event, Miss Ngoc Han, the Cultural Reading Ambassador of Compassion Books, shared how books changed her life and her journey as an Ambassador of the program. This marked the first time that Ministry members have listened to a Beauty Queen speak about the mission of the Cultural Reading Ambassador at an official conference. The conference was also noteworthy for the full participation of Heads and Deputy Heads of the 4 Departments under the Ministry at a cultural reading conference.
The conference showcased the Ministry’s commitment to promoting reading culture and lifelong learning, and demonstrated the central-level educational managers’ concern for these issues. Following the sharing session, Cultural Reading Ambassador Ngoc Han presented some good books from Compassion Books to Deputy Minister Nguyen Huu Do, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Study Encouragement Association – Prof. Pham Tat Dong, and the Department Heads and Deputy Heads.
With this conference and the Ministry’s continued efforts to promote reading culture, it is hoped that one day every educational manager from the central to local levels will also become reading ambassadors, helping to spread the love of books and gratitude to all people.
